It only took the jury seconds to decide the verdict and seconds to decide the penalty.
A reporter showed up for the first half on the first day of the trial.
And showed up again for the end.
Just like any other news article, it's not completely accurate.
Sounds like this crappy chapter of your life is winding down.
ReplyDeleteYeah, when the sentence was announced it was like I had been holding my breath for almost 4 years and was able to breathe again.
DeleteI really don't know what to say, but congratulations wouldn't be one of them. Hopefully you can put this behind you and get back on a better, happier, path.
ReplyDeleteBe well.

Thanks Leigh, I wouldn't know what to say if this had happened to someone else either.
DeleteI'm not a fan of life terms. If they cannot be punished enough by twenty years, maybe they should be recycled. I hope this brings closure. I know it wouldn't for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's not so much about punishment. If he ever gets out he is going to try to kill me. There is no doubt. I don't want to be 60 or 70 and have to look over my shoulder for that fucker every day. And it's not just me, he could decide that hurting my family would hurt me more.
