Angel had a post about how we in "North Texas" flip out when it snows. A lot of my local facebook friends have been posting this.

Vikings

This is the opening theme for the show Vikings on the History Channel. If you haven't seen it you are really missing out.

This video isn't from the show (the song is) and it's creepy as hell!

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Have you ever stopped to help someone change a tire on the side of the road?

I did it the other morning.

What This Shutdown Should Forewarn

Let’s pretend it’s ten years from now and Obamacare is fully in place and there’s a legitimate fight over spending and taxing…and there’s a government shutdown… Do you know what a president like Obama would do? He’d start cutting off your health care to force you to capitulate to his demands. – Mark Levin

Fire Truck

A firefighter was working on the engine outside the Tylden fire station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. The girl was wearing a firefighters helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat.
The firefighter walked over to take a closer look. 'That sure is a nice fire truck,' the firefighter said with admiration.
'Thanks,' the girl replied. The firefighter looked a little closer. The girl had tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's testicles.

Appleseed

A friend of mine from high school and I are going to our first Appleseed event in about a month and I am getting pretty excited. Well, about as excited as a laid back guy like me can get. Anyway, I'm looking for a little advice from those of ya'll that have done one before. I am not a gear whore (mostly because I'm a cheapskate) so I need to buy a few things to be ready. I've been over the list on the Appleseed website but I don't want to have to bum anything while I'm there. Below are a few specific questions I have but any advice will be appreciated. BTW, I'm more of a pistol guy so a lot of this is new to me.

So Many Things Wrong With This Story

We all know about the rodeo clown that got "banned for life". I knew it was fishy when I first saw the picture. Why would he have a broomstick shoved up his ass? (Insert homo Obama joke here).

It's a dummy for the bulls to plow into! I don't think we'll be hearing him complain about being banned. This is obviously a fabricated controversy but by whom? Was it to goad the race-baiters into looking like idiots or are the race-baiters just making shit up? It's probably the latter but the former would be funny.

Here's a video of it. Don't bother watching the whole thing, he doesn't get hit here. It does kind of show him being set up though.

Interview

Interviewer (to audience): - “Good evening lady’s and Gentleman tonight I’m speaking to the legendary air ace Douglas (Tin legs) Bader, of the No. 19 Squadron based at RAF Duxford near Cambridge, during the Battle of Britain in 1940.”

Interviewer (to the Wing Commander): “Good evening Wing Commander Bader.”

Wing commander: - “Good evening “

Interviewer: - “Could you tell us something about a typical flight mission as you would have experienced it in 1940 during the battle of Britain?”

Wing commander: - “Well it’s a difficult experience to describe but I’ll give you an example, one time I was alone on patrol, and was directed toward an enemy aircraft flying north up the Nolfolk coast. I Spotting the aircraft at 600 yards through the mist, I recognized it as a Dornier Do 17. As I closed on the Dornier, three Fockers came out of the mist and attacked me."

Interviewer (to the audience):-"Just to clarify for our radio audience Fockers were a type of fighter plane that the Germans used during world war two, actually called Focke-Wulf’s they were generally referred to as Fockers by British pilots."

Wing commander: - "Yes! Thank you for clarifying but these Fockers were flying Messerschmitt’s!"

Holy Shit!

Gun People Don’t Trust Anti-Gun People...

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because they completely ignore the fact that true conservatism is about, in part, the preservation of traditions and long-standing principles. We don’t trust anti-gunners because the American Revolution was kicked off by an attempt at gun control when the British marched to Concord to seize the colonists’ muskets and powder. Since the shot heard ‘round the world was fired on Lexington Green, the possession of a firearm has been the mark and symbol of a citizen, distinguishing them from a subject of a monarchy or tyrannical government. We don’t trust anti-gunners because they prefer the post-modern world where anything means anything, and they therefore don’t understand the power of or need for the preservation of traditions — or at least, ones of which they don’t personally approve.

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because in a single breath they tell us that the Second Amendment is irrelevant today and should be repealed because semi-automatic weapons didn’t exist when the Bill of Rights was written, then turn around and say the First Amendment protects radio, television, movies, video games, the Internet, domain names, Facebook and Twitter. Carrying liberal logic on the Second Amendment through to the First Amendment, it would only cover the town crier, and hand-operated printing presses producing only books and newspapers, and nothing else.  Even anything written with a No. 2 pencil or ballpoint pen would not be included. And those of you belonging to religions that formed after the 1790s? You’re screwed under liberal logic, too.

Not really about baseball.

If these two situations happened today I don't think they would play out the same way.

Murdered DA Had Put His Guns Away

Slain Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland kept a gun "in every room of his house" but couldn't reach one when his killer or killers came into his home Easter weekend because he had put the weapons away just hours before to protect visitors, his son said in an interview published Tuesday.
"They had a party the night before and he gathered up all his guns and put them away in a bag so that his guests didn't stumble across them," J.R. McLelland told The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/XpEqok ).

This guy, who was normally prepared, let his guard down and paid for it. This is weeks after one of his prosecutors was gunned down.  If you don't want guns all over your house, carry one.

Texas Gun Talk Shoot

I got up this morning and headed 2 hours south with my wife, son, and father-in-law to meet up with 39 other folks from TGT for a shoot we recently started doing twice a year. It gets better every time. Last time I drug an old car of mine there so we had to step it up this time. Here is a video of my son shooting the Caddy with my AK.

One of the guys build a tough camera box so he could catch the action up close. Here is 20 lbs of tannerite just sitting on the trunk.

You'll want to watch this one until after the smoke clears. It's 40 lbs of tannerite just inside the driver's door shot with a .50 BMG.

Here is a link to more pictures and videos. BTW, you don't have to be in Texas to join.

Sue Me

I got a new job... been busy.

I'll have some videos to post Sunday though. Going to a big shoot where we plan on blowing up a Cadillac. Should be more fun than my MG that we destroyed last time.

Obama Rated Fifth Best President Ever

I was just reading a Democratic publicity release that said, "After a little more than 4 years, Obama has been rated the 5th best president ever."

The details according to White House Publicists:

  1. Reagan, Lincoln, and 8 others tied for first,
  2. 15 presidents tied for second,
  3. 17 other presidents tied for third,
  4. Jimmy Carter came in 4th, and
  5. Obama came in fifth
